Meet Moses Chilumpha, Head Teacher

Moses Chilumpha, Head Teacher of Matandani Primary School.
I studied at Montfort Teacher’s College (TTC) and began teaching in 1996. I have been teaching for 28 years.
I have taught at the following schools:

Meet Fatsireni Khonsolo

I graduated from Bembeke TTC with a Certificate in Teaching.
I began in Matandani Primary School in 2014 and have been teaching here for 10 years. My favourite subjects to teach are science, agriculture and English.I would like to travel with education. That is my desire.
I enjoy listening to music, reading and playing netball.
I am married.
Meet Zamadula Macheka

Qualifications:
Primary Teaching Certificate, Blantyre Teachers’ College, Blantyre, 2011.
Bachelors Degree of Arts and Sciences, Sobat University, Switzerland.
Diploma in Leadership and Management and Conflict Management, Oxford Home Study School.
I am currently doing a degree in Theology at Jacksonville Baptist Seminary College. My ambition is to become a university lecturer in Malawi or abroad.
I am from Nsanje District, working at Matandani School. My favourite subject to teach is mathematics.
I enjoy drama, reading books and novels, playing and watching movies and football.
I love rice with meat.
Meet Dorice Ghocho

I began teaching in 2016 because I wanted to help children fulfil their potential.
My favourite subject to teach in social and environmental sciences.
One of my favourite teaching memories is having students use their bodies to create objects and letters!
In the future I would like to be a teacher trainer.
Meet Kenneth Kassam

I began teaching in 1996 because I wanted to help children fulfil their potential. My favourite subject to teach is English.
One of my favourite teaching memories is the 2003 school year; it was the year with great children and great secondary school results!
In my free time, I enjoy carpentry, reading books, and writing short stories and poems.

Meet Peter Dandaula

I studied at Emmanuel University (formerly known as Emmanuel TTC). I have a MSCE and T2 certificate. I also have a certificate in Child Protection, Anamed Food Processing and ICT basis.
I love outdoor activities, reading, community volunteering, writing, music and cultural exploration.
Meet Jonathan Moyokunyenga

I studied at Lilongwe TTC and began my teaching career in April 2016.
I was born in December 1990. I am married to Esther Mtira. I enjoy jogging and playing volleyball. My favourite colour is blue.
Meet Comfort Mosolija

I began teaching in 2013 because I admired my teachers who spoke English and interacted with students.
My favourite subject to teach is mathematics.
One of my favourite teaching memories is when I was able to successfully explain the difference between multiplication and division to a struggling learner.
My view on teaching is that, “it’s done with your whole heart.”
Meet Collins Mulipa

I began teaching in 2012 because I was impressed by the professionalism of teachers and the fact that it’s a good job where you’re constantly refreshing your knowledge.
My favourite subject to teach is mathematics. It’s not good to not know math, everything is related to math. For example, going into shops and buying things.
One of my favourite teaching memories is when the advisors supervised my lesson. I was very nervous beforehand, but afterwards they told me I had done well. I was very happy!
Meet Gloria Kambuku

I began teaching in 2016 because it was my calling and has been my desire since I was young. My favourite subject to teach is mathematics.
My favourite teaching memories are anytime I use creative techniques, like singing and dancing, to improve learning.
Gloria is involved with the Ipad project at Matandani and says, “it’s good because it challenges the learners’ thinking capacities.”
Meet Patrick Msusa

I began teaching in 2016 because teaching plays a role in the government; everyone in the government was educated by a teacher! My favourite subject to teach is agriculture because most people in Malawi use it.
In my free time I enjoy playing and watching football. My favourite teaching memory is from teaching practice when the students’ families provided food for the teachers in training.
In the future, I hope that Matandani will have a library.
Meet Mike Doko Phiri

My motto is to encourage and inspire learners.
I am Senior Section Head in Matandani school and I am the Chair of Examinations. I am Procurement Officer for the school and I also have responsibility for sanitation.
My hobbies are watching soccer, reading and ICT.
I live in Domasi Police area, 15-20km from the school. I am married with two children, a boy and a girl.
I aim to achieve everything I plan and love to succeed.
Meet Angela Mhango

I studied at Karronga Teachers College.
I enjoy movies and reading novels.
Meet Pilirani Lauseni

I attended Miriam Teacher Training College (TTC). I have been teaching for seven years. My favourite subjects are English, Mathematics and Life Skills.
I hope to work hard so that learners can read, write and apply the knowledge they learn at school.
My hobbies are reading, watching movies and playing netball. My favourite colours are blue and grey.
Meet Sungeni Minjolo

I studied at Emanuel Teacher Training College and I began teaching in November 2019.
I enjoy reading, watching movies, listening to music and travelling.
I am married to Florence Mtonga.
Meet Rodrick Macray Kandulu

I studied at Lilongwe TTC. I began teaching in September, 2017 at Matandani Primary School. I enjoy teaching mathematics, agriculture and Life Skills.
I like playing football and praying.
I am married.
Meet Crytone Pangani

I graduated from Montfort Teacher Training College (TTC) in 1993.
I began teaching in September 1994 and have been teaching for thirty years. I have taught a variety of learners who proceeded to high school.
I wish to work hard in order to have high performance for my students.
Football is my favourite hobby.
I am married with five children.

I studied at St. Joseph’s Teacher Training College.
My favourite subjects to teach are English and science. I enjoy interacting with people and making new friendships.
I am hoping to change lives of children by sensitising them and empowering them to succeed with education.

I began teaching in 2013 because I believe in giving children knowledge. My favouurite subject to teach is mathematics.
One of my favourite teaching memories is participating in a practical lesson on cooking food.
In the future I would like to be a primary education lecturer.
