1. Installed a tap and sink in each of the 10 classrooms so they can have clean water

    and be able to wash their hands.

5. Painted and fully stocked the new First Aid cabinet.

6. Constructed and upgraded the drainage system around the school area.

7. Completed the grass netball court by installing the metal Olympic sized netball rings.

8. Constructed new volleyball and badminton courts.

9. Made a new Sports Box to hold all the donated sports equipment such as badminton racquets & nets, volleyball net and training balls, footballs, bibs and cones.

10. Constructed a new entrance and road into the school.

11. Donated a set of 40 football jerseys and socks for the school teams – (orange).

12. Painted the roofs of the classroom blocks green to help protect them and make them last longer.

13. Upgraded older toilets to manual flush toilets for the boys and girls.

14. Levelled and re-aligned the football pitch and added topsoil to help the grass grow all over the pitch.

15. Bought a new A3 colour printer and A3 laminator to make class resources for displays.

16. Donated a laptop and smartphone to Kenneth (deputy-head of Matandani) to keep the consistent and reliable communication

between Ireland and Malawi.

17. Bought and replaced nearly all teachers’ manuals for each subject/standard.

18. Started a new project with ‘Mooncups’ for the female students.

19. Built over 200 benches for the children in Std 1- 5 to sit on instead of the floor.

20. Extended the security lights to the front and back of all the classroom blocks at Matandani.

21. Replaced all classroom doors with new good quality hardwood doors that should last a very long time and keep the buildings secure.

22. Renovated classrooms and printed posters/teaching resources for each class/standard.

23. Matandani’s teachers created a 3D map of Malawi outside, including features like mountains, rivers and major towns/cities.

24. Reconstructed the original borehole water pump at the school with working drainage.
